Animal Worlds

Date

2024

Project type

Surrealistic Digital Paintings/
Prismacolor Drawings

Animal Worlds is a journey into the intricate and often unseen relationships between animals, plants, and the environments that support their survival. Through surrealistic, hyper-realistic artwork, this exhibition reveals how deforestation, overhunting, pollution on land and in oceans, and the spread of invasive plants and animals all profoundly impact ecosystems. Each piece presents a moment in the lives of diverse creatures, from those of "least concern" to those on the brink of or are extinct, highlighting how these forces disrupt habitats and place species at risk.
This exhibition is about showcasing the living earth and exploring the ways human actions reverberate through the natural world. Each artwork captures a fraction of each species' story, the unique habitats they call home, and the threats they face. Accompanying the exhibition is information about the medical significance and toxicity levels of the plants depicted in each Animal World, illustrating how these plants influence their environments and sometimes endanger the animals that live within them.
Animal Worlds invites viewers to consider the implications of allowing these species to disappear and to question what the future holds for humanity if we continue to lose biodiversity. By revealing the delicate balance of life, this exhibit underscores why it is vital to preserve the intricate web of life on our planet, respecting and protecting the diverse creatures and ecosystems that sustain us all.
